Finding the Site

The district's shared filing cabinet and how to find your way around it.

Your district's shared filing cabinet

SharePoint is where the district stores its shared files. Think of it as a communal filing cabinet that everyone in the district can access, depending on their role.

Documents stored in SharePoint belong to the district, not to any one person. When someone leaves their role, the files stay behind for the next person. This means meeting minutes, templates, reports, and important documents are always available to the people who need them - no matter who comes or goes.

Installing the SharePoint app (optional)

Most members find it easier to access SharePoint through a browser or through the OneDrive app. The dedicated SharePoint app is optional, but it can be useful if you access SharePoint frequently on your phone.

Choose your device:
  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Search for Microsoft SharePoint.
  3. Tap Get to download and install the app.
  4. Open the app and sign in with your Rotary email address (e.g. firstname.lastname@rotary9660.org.au).
  5. Complete sign-in with your password and MFA prompt.

  2. Alternatively, look in the left navigation panel and browse through Sites to see a list of all sites you have access to.
  3. Click the site name to open it.

Bookmarking the site for quick access

Once you have found your committee's SharePoint site, bookmark it so you can get back to it quickly next time.

Choose your platform:
  1. Navigate to the SharePoint site in your browser.
  2. Press Ctrl + D on your keyboard.
  3. Choose a name and folder for the bookmark, then click Done or Save.
Keep committee files in SharePoint, not OneDrive

SharePoint is for files that belong to your committee or the district, such as meeting minutes, templates, reports, and shared documents. Do not save these to your personal OneDrive. If you save committee files to OneDrive, other members cannot access them and they may be lost if you leave your role.
