On the "Update your password" screen, enter your current (temporary) password in the "Current password" field.
Change Your Password
Microsoft 365 requires you to set a new personal password on your first login. This replaces the temporary password provided by IT.
Password requirements
Your new password must meet all of the following:
- At least 8 characters long (12 or more is strongly recommended)
- At least one uppercase letter (AâZ)
- At least one lowercase letter (aâz)
- At least one number (0â9)
- At least one symbol (e.g. ! @ # $ % & *)
- Must not be the same as your previous or temporary password
- Must not contain your name, spouse's name, or pet's name
- Must not be your date of birth or a simple number like
1234

Enter your chosen new password in the "New password" field, making sure it meets all the requirements above.

Type the same new password again in the "Confirm password" field.
Both fields must match exactly.

Click "Sign in" (or "Update password") to save your new password.

Microsoft may then ask you to provide extra security information. Continue through any prompts â you will set up MFA fully in Step 3.
