About Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 (sometimes called M365 or Office 365) is Microsoft's suite of online tools — email, cloud storage, document editing, video meetings, and more. Think of it as a single account that gives you access to a family of digital tools under one login.

Rotary District 9660 uses Microsoft 365 to give members a secure, shared digital workspace — including the Rotary SharePoint site, Outlook email, Microsoft Teams for meetings, and OneDrive for file storage.

With your Rotary Microsoft 365 account you can access:

  • Rotary SharePoint — the district's knowledge base, forms, documents, and resources
  • Outlook — your personal Rotary email inbox at yourname@rotary9660.org.au
  • Microsoft Teams — video meetings, chats, and district group conversations
  • OneDrive — your personal cloud file storage (up to 1 TB)
  • Web versions of Office apps — Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in your browser

Some Rotary members are able to install the full Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, and others) directly on their computer. Whether this is available to you depends on your account type.

To find out, email the Rotary District 9660 IT Team at support@rotary9660.org.au and they can let you know.

In the meantime, you can use the browser versions of all Office apps at office.com — no installation needed.

Yes! Microsoft 365 works well on phones and tablets. You can:

  • Download the Microsoft Outlook app to read your Rotary email on your phone (available free on App Store and Google Play)
  • Download the Microsoft Teams app to join meetings from your phone or tablet
  • Download Microsoft OneDrive to access your files on the go

Sign in to each app using your Rotary email address (yourname@rotary9660.org.au) and your password.

Your Account

Your Rotary email address is in the format firstname.lastname@rotary9660.org.au. For example, a member named Jane Smith would have jane.smith@rotary9660.org.au.

Your email address was included in the welcome message from the IT Team. If you are unsure, email support@rotary9660.org.au and they can confirm it for you.

You can change your password at any time by visiting aka.ms/mysecurityinfo and clicking Password in the left-hand menu.

Alternatively, sign in to office.com, click your initials or profile photo in the top-right corner, then click "View account""Password".

If you have completed the initial setup (including MFA), you can reset your own password without contacting IT using Microsoft's Self-Service Password Reset.

See the Forgot Your Password? guide for full instructions.

No — never. The Rotary District 9660 IT Team will never ask for your password, by email, phone, or any other means. If anyone claiming to be from IT asks for your password, do not give it to them and report it to support@rotary9660.org.au.

See the Changed or Lost Your Phone? guide for step-by-step instructions depending on whether you still have access to your old phone or not.

The Apps — SharePoint, OneDrive & Teams

SharePoint is Rotary District 9660's shared website and document library, visible only to members. Think of it as the district's private intranet — a central place to find official documents, forms, meeting minutes, policies, and district resources.

You can access it at rotaryd9660.sharepoint.com .

OneDrive is your personal cloud storage — like having a USB drive that lives online. Files you save to OneDrive are accessible from any computer or phone and are automatically backed up.

Unlike SharePoint (which is shared with the whole district), OneDrive is private to you unless you choose to share a file with someone else. You get 1 TB of storage (that's enough for tens of thousands of documents and thousands of photos).

Teams is Microsoft's video-meeting and messaging tool — similar to Zoom or FaceTime, but built into your Microsoft 365 account. You can use it to:

  • Join or host video meetings
  • Chat with other Rotary members
  • Share documents during a meeting
  • Participate in district group conversations

Access it at teams.cloud.microsoft or download the free Teams app on your phone or computer.
