Which situation applies to you?

Good news — as long as your old phone is still working, you can do this yourself without contacting IT.

Step 1 — Sign in using your old phone one last time

  1. On your computer, go to aka.ms/mysecurityinfo and sign in with your Rotary email and password.

  2. When asked to approve the sign-in, use your old phone to complete the MFA number-matching prompt.

Step 2 — Add your new phone as a sign-in method

  1. On the Security Info page, click "+ Add sign-in method".

  2. Select "Authenticator app" (recommended) or "Phone" for SMS.

  3. Follow the on-screen steps to set up the Authenticator app on your new phone, or enter your new mobile number for SMS. This is the same process as Step 3 of the initial setup guide.

Step 3 — Remove your old phone

  1. Back on the Security Info page, find the entry for your old phone or the old Authenticator app.

  2. Click "Delete" next to it, then confirm.

  3. You're done! Sign in on your computer will now use your new phone for MFA.

Without access to your old phone, you cannot bypass MFA yourself. The Rotary District 9660 IT Team needs to reset your account first, after which you can set up your new phone.

What to do

  1. Email the Rotary District 9660 IT Team at support@rotary9660.org.au and let them know:

    • Your full name
    • Your Rotary email address
    • That you no longer have access to your old phone
    • Your new phone number (if using SMS) or that you need to re-register the Authenticator app
  2. The IT Team will reset your MFA. They will let you know when it has been done — this usually takes 1 business day.

  3. Once reset, go to aka.ms/mysecurityinfo and follow the MFA setup guide (Step 3) to add your new phone.

Why can't IT just do it over the phone? For your security, the IT Team will never reset MFA without verifying your identity. Email is the safest way to do this with an audit trail.
